Depression treatment has evolved significantly over the last decade, with new therapies offering hope when traditional approaches fall short. One of the most notable advancements being highlighted recently by University of Iowa Health Care is SAINT® neuromodulation therapy, an accelerated and highly targeted form of TMS designed to support individuals with treatment-resistant depression (University of Iowa Health Care, March 6, 2025). This approach uses imaging-guided precision to deliver therapeutic results more rapidly and effectively.

Unlike standard TMS, which is delivered once daily over roughly six weeks, SAINT delivers multiple sessions per day over just five days, leveraging structural and functional MRI to pinpoint each patient’s optimal brain-stimulation target (University of Iowa Health Care, March 6 2025). Early data cited in the report show that remission rates approach 80% in patients for whom other treatments have failed, with most side-effects limited to transient headache or fatigue.

SEPATMS is Bringing the Innovation to You

We are excited to announce that SEPATMS now offers a Modified SAINT Accelerated Protocol. This means we are bringing this advanced, image-guided, time-efficient treatment option to our practice. For patients who have struggled with treatment-resistant depression, this protocol offers renewed hope — combining rapid scheduling with personalized targeting, all in a non-invasive TMS format.

Closing Recap:

The University of Iowa’s work underscores how the SAINT approach is shifting the paradigm in neuromodulation therapy — speeding treatment, increasing precision, and delivering tangible outcomes in patients who have previously faced limited options (University of Iowa Health Care, March 6 2025).

At SEPATMS, we are honoured to extend this advancement to our patients through the Modified SAINT Accelerated Protocol, and we invite you to explore whether this breakthrough might be the right next step in your journey to wellness.
